Smart Lock Installation

Avelios Locks London installs smart locks suited to the existing door and the people using it. Speak to us before choosing a device so we can discuss compatibility and the access you need. Your current lock, the way the door closes and your preferred entry method are the starting points.

Check the exact door and model

We check the proposed model against the existing hardware before discussing fitting. Smart locks differ in their suitability for cylinders, night latches and multipoint arrangements, so have the exact product name ready. Mention any stiff operation too. Mechanical faults need addressing in their own right, and some doors still need the handle lifting when a smart lock is fitted.

Plan for ordinary days and interruptions

Decide who needs access and whether each person can use the proposed phone, keypad or physical backup. Check the manufacturer's instructions for low power, a lost phone and interrupted connectivity. Remote access may require additional equipment or services. Agree which functions matter to you before selecting a product; features vary by model and configuration.

Permissions and handover matter

We discuss the installation scope, including the hardware, fitting and setup needed for your chosen model. For a flat entrance, shared door or protected property, establish the relevant building requirements first. At handover, make sure you understand everyday operation and how authorised users are managed. Keep the owner account under your control; initial enquiries should never include passwords or entry codes.

Useful answers

Before you call

Can a smart lock be fitted to a uPVC or composite door?

Some models work with suitable multipoint arrangements, but compatibility must be checked against the exact product and door. Do not buy on the basis of door material alone.

Will I still get in if my phone or the lock battery runs out?

That depends on the model and its backup method. Establish the manufacturer's procedure before buying and make sure everyone who needs access can use it. A physical key is not a feature of every smart lock.

Does a smart lock automatically satisfy my insurer?

No. Check the policy against the full door and lock arrangement, including any retained mechanical locks. Ask your insurer to confirm suitability where the wording is unclear.
